Highlighting new restaurants this summer! We had a chance to try the new restaurant in Los Osos where Blue Heron used to be, called Mirazur or looking at the blue. It is such a special tribute to the previous owners and so happy to have this beautiful spot back open. It is great for date night great wine selections and the seafood options are so good. I had the seafood medley special that included shrimp, calamari and scallops in a piccata sauce with garlic mashed potatoes and haricots verts! My honey had the pan-seared halibut served in a creamy aji amarillo sauce with prawns and steamed jasmine rice. Starting with the Ceasar salad helped set the stage for the fresh seafood. Definitely worth the drive!
Another new favorite in SLO is Kiko! KIKO brings the delicious dishes that are staples of Peruvian Food to San Luis Obispo. Kiko beautifully combines Peru's incredibly diverse ingredients and cultural influences with a vibrant locale. The staff is very knowledgeable and can help with recommendations, so you won't be intimidated to try new things! The owner stops by too to add a touch of warmth and welcome that makes you feel right at home. Go try it! Start with a Pisco Sour! I loved the pomegranate option and don't miss the Ceviche Clasico', Anticuchos (Peruvian Skewers) Meat or veggies marinated in aji panca marinade and grilled on skewers and then for the entree ...the Pasta Huancaína which is noodles with a creamy aji amarillo sauce and parmesan. that can be werved with veggies and your choice of: chicken, steak, prawn, veggie; saltado or anticuchero style. So good!
